Semiramide, La Signora regale

This is a brave and fascinating project. […] I don’t think anyone has tried before to present a comparative study of this kind of the way composers approached a particular character. Yet it is a crucial question; at least scholars now are taking into account the way these different operas are constructed.
How beautiful the music is and [Anna Bonitatibus] does it so well. I very much appreciate her variations of repetitions, not only for what she does, which is so much in style, but also for the way she does it, which is just so right for this music. The accompaniment of the Accademia degli Astrusi is lovely. Bravi tutti. And the presentation that Harmonia Mundi worked out, with the fabulous booklet by Davide Verga and the great photographs of Anna as La Signora Regale and art works featuring her are simply marvellous.
