The admirable mezzo Anna Bonitatibus plunges straight into the mix with en travesti, and she does it exceptionally well, her arias offering a selection of male characters originally written to be performed by a woman. Bonitatibus copes effortlessly with bravura vocalising in arias from Handel, Gluck, Bellini, Donizetti, Meyerbeer, Strauss and Mascagni, among others.

Il mezzosoprano sa destreggiarsi con proprietà di linguaggio attraverso le epoche, scandagliando con fraseggio soppesato i testi e mettendo a frutto la scaltrezza tecnica, fondata su canto a fior di labbra, colorature sgranate, messe di voce omogenee e millmetriche (memorabile quella che apre l’aria di Tancredi!); doti belcantistiche che si rivelano una risorsa preziosa anche nel canto spiegato richiesto dagli autori fin de siècle.

Das Repertoire reicht vom Barock bis ins 20. Jahrhundert, und die Sängerin meistert diese Zeitreise stilistisch mit größter Sicherheit und viel vokalem Raffinement. Sie passt ihre Stimme mit viel Sensibilität den Komponisten wie auch den Charakteren an. Diese Kunst der Gestaltung lässt das Recital sehr abwechslungsreich werden.

Emocionante Romeo de exquisito legato, un delicioso Tancredi o un menos habitual Armando de Maria di Rohan; también un chispeante Urbain en la archiconocida ‘Non…non…’ y la adaptación de Berlioz del Orphée de Gluck. Como rareza, podemos incluso escuchar a la mezzo cantando en aleman: un amoroso Octavian de Der Rosenkavalier.
